Until you get deprived
of something, you will never
know how to get it back

When we received Mr. Bhargav,
he was unable to walk or
sit properly. He had limited
movement in arms and legs

Mr. Bhargav Singh was diagnosed with Hemiparesis. Hemiparesis is a condition that is commonly caused by either stroke or other diseases of the nervous system or the brain.

While he was hospitalized in ICU in Mohali, his son who lives and works in Shimla could not return home and take care of his father due to personal difficulty. He was also helpless in bringing his father to Shimla due to lack of medical facilities there.

Mr. Bhargav had lost control of one side of his body and was immediately bedridden. Considering his age and also his stature of health, his doctor recommended that he should be treated in the comfort of his home. Thus, the family decided to take the patient to their daughter’s home in Jalandhar under HealthCare atHOME Elderly Care Services

HCAH took Mr. Bhargav’s responsibility from scratch, based on carefully laid down treatment plan. His vital signs were monitored, and feeding was done exclusively through a food pipe. They changed the wound dressing daily. He also received rigorous physiotherapy along with wheelchair mobility, to help him restore control over his limbs.

In a matter of 28 days, his food pipe was removed and he was on semi-solid foods. His fluid balance was maintained as well. HCAH also provided him with mobilization assistance and counselling to cope up with his conditions. By the end of the treatment, Mr. Bhargav’s functioning of the limbs was restored, and his bed sores (bed sores are a major problem for patients who are confined to bed) healed completely. He started to feel much stronger than before. Seeing the quick results, his family was very happy with their decision.

Today, Mr. Bhargav leads a normal life with his family and is slowly taking interest in things he was previously missing on. His son feels very grateful towards HCAH for not breaking the trust on which he had left his father.
