I didn’t know what bravery
was until I saw it in my
own self. It was a battle
and I knew I would win it

Every person is different; every
situation is different. It takes
the right planning to realize
and understand these situations
to commence a treatment.

Kavita’s journey with breast cancer started in May 2010. She was shocked when she came to know that she was suffering from a life-threatening disease.

The family immediately started searching for doctors and good treatments. They finally found a hospital near their home where she completed two cycles of chemotherapy.

Realizing the severity of the disease, the doctors at the hospital recommended that she takes home chemotherapy care with HealthCare atHome. This was also done to relieve her of the added stress of prolonged hospital stays.

For many cancer sufferers having to travel and from hospital for the treatment is highly stressful, causing anxiety as well as upsetting their everyday life.

The support she received from HCAH became a wellspring of strength and reassurance. The entire team sat down with her to put a treatment plan together. She received a cost-effective home chemotherapy that was conducted in an infection-free environment. To control the side effects, her condition was monitored closely. Since Mrs. Kavita was anaemic, blood transfusion was done twice.

In a matter of two months, she successfully received two cycles of chemotherapy as prescribed by her doctor. She was also given instructions on oral hygiene, nutritional advice and post chemotherapy instructions, once the cycles were over.

The tough phase of life brought her little relief because she had her entire family by her side.
